Deer Valley November 28 - December 2, 2013

We decided that since Scott had to work on Thanksgiving day, we would go play for the weekend up in Park City.  We found a great deal on a condo in Deer Valley, The Trails End Lodge.  It was right by the Deer Valley Ski Resort Lodge.  So after we ate dinner with the Walch's, Corie, Cadie and I drove up to Deer Valley and waited for Scott to get there after work.  We arrived about 6pm and Scott got up there about 9pm.

It really was a very nice condo.  We only had a one bedroom two bathroom place, but the coach in the living room made out into a double bed, so the girls slept there.  There was a big jacuzzi hot tub on the porch.  There wasn't lots of snow on the ground, a few inches, but it was definitely cold and fun.

Corie had to drive down to Salt Lake on Friday, as she had to work. So, Scott, Cadie, and I went and walked around the outlet mall and did some Black Friday shopping.  To our surprise, there weren't a whole lot of people up there.  I think we went early enough in the day, that we beat the crowds.  Then we went again after Corie got back from work, and again, no crowds.

We spent a lot of time in the hot tub.  It really was relaxing and fun, as we didn't have to be or go anywhere.  We did walk up and down Park City's Main Street.  We also drove up the canyon to the Stein Erikson Lodge and to the Montage  Lodge.  The lights were so pretty up there.  Other than that we just hung out at the Condo.  We exercised in the work out room and went swimming in the outdoor pool.  We also walked across the street to the St Regis hotel and rode the funicular up the side of the mountain to get to the hotel.

The pictures are out of order, and mixed up, but that is the only way they would download.  On our walk up and down Main Street, we stopped half way through and took some family pictures (minus Cameron, of course).

I am with Cadie and Corie on the upside of the chair lift.

Trying to be creative in taking a group photo.

The St Regis hotel in Deer Valley, is a very classy hotel.
This lounge chair is just in one of the hallways.

The hot tub just outside our room.  We spent many hours just chillin' in the jacuzzi.

After a couple hours, everyone was getting a little warm, so I went and scooped them up some ice cream and put it in cute little cups, and served it to them.  They thought that was the best.

This picture was taken after they had sat in the hot tub for
much longer than I could handle being in there.
I have a hard time sitting in hot water for too long.  They loved it.

These last two pictures are a few more creative shots that
we tried to take of the 4 of us.  We had fun using the timer on the camera.

On Sunday, we did go to the visitor ward Sacrament Meeting.  It is so cool that they always have so many visitors in Park City, that the 11:00 am church is just a Sacrament Meeting for visitors.  The local wards take turns hosting the meeting.  We only filled up the chapel this time.  Sometimes it has filled up the entire cultural hall.  A few minutes before the meeting was suppose to start, in walks Mitt Romney and his wife, Ann.  As soon as we saw him, Cadie and I just looked at each other and said, "It's Mitt Romney."  He sat on the row right next to us, so of course we had to take a picture of him.  Corie is really great at being sneaky taking pictures.

 This picture is so great.
We love the man at the end of the aisle looking at Mitt.

Corie and Cadie both had to go to work on Monday morning, so they left Sunday night to go home, so they could get up early and leave to work.  Scott and I just slept in and took our time packing up before we had to head home.  It was a really fun few days.  We hope to be able to get great deals like that again, and do it more frequently.
